  • This week’s mood 👆 ✨ ✨ 😂 But seriously, this week can def be a little crazy; between the holidays and the realization that this year is almost over it can cause a lot of anxiety and stress for most of us. ✨ ✨ On the podcast this week, E and I talk about just that and the *6 ways to practice gratitude* that we’re using to shift our mood!   • Getting out of bed is officially accompanied by some sound effects and getting just the right momentum to lodge myself out 🤷🏻‍♀️😜 ✨ ✨ These last couple of weeks though have been so much better since the last bump date (scroll back in my feed if you missed it all about health stuff that was happening)! I did hurt my foot right after that bumpdate though, but it’s since heeled so I’m working out again 👟 and let me tell you, I can’t imagine not working out while pregnant! I felt so much more achey and sore when I was trying to stay off my foot… as soon as I started working out again my body felt so much better… although getting out of bed is still a V unique transition 😂 ✨ ✨ Other than that, my growing size has led me to finally shift how I eat throughout the day. I did get some heartburn last week and realized that a) I probably needed to be eating more and b) I needed to be eating smaller portions. I had still been eating pretty normally (with extra protein of course): 3 meals a day with a snack… now my organs are a bit more squished I think so I’m eating 5-6 small meals/snacks throughout the day to keep my body fueled consistently and the heart burn dissipated real quick! ✨ ✨ It’s wild how our body’s change! What have been some of your favorite hacks for a comfortable pregnancy?

[ad] ✨ ✨ When I first heard about it I thought, “how great can it really be?!” I heard celebrities love it for rough patches, and even use the OG skin food (large tube pictured above) to highlight high points on their face before applying makeup.   • 🍂 YOU GUYS!!!! It’s finally dropped below 80 degrees!!!! ! 🍂 Woke up to a crisp 60 morning, took the pup, babe, and hubs for a walk to the beach and feel totally blissed out! (much unlike this photo, which I took in 85 degrees and was pretending it was fall 😂 but feels v appropriate for today’s temperatures). 🍂 🍂 If you’re looking to find your own bliss this weekend, I’m sharing my 6 ways to practice self care during chaotic times of the year *ahem - the holidays* on the blog!   • Shout out to everyone going through something right now because life is more than a highlight reel 💪💖🙌 ✨ ✨ I recorded a couple of amazing podcasts recently with @iamsahararose and one with @cheryljmuir (air in December and January so make sure you’re subscribed and don’t miss them!). In both of them this concept of external achievements and being put on a pedestal came up. You see we only get to see everyone’s highlight reel. We don’t see the moments where “I cants” become “I cans” ... and then the tears, self doubt, and obstacles that follow... ✨ ✨ So if you’re going through it right now, know you aren’t alone. You’ve got this 👊 ✨ ✨ P.S. E did the cutest thing today that inspired this caption... he’s been in a bit of a funk/emotional rollercoaster so today he wrote down an “achievement list” of everything he accomplished this week... and he was so proud to show it to me! It was so cute seeing how it lit him up! I hope you can give yourself the same gift if you feel called to it 🙏

  • Today is a new day and you have the *choice* in how to react to it 👊 ✨ ✨ Each new day brings a new opportunity for growth and strength. With all the tragedies happening around the country it can be easy to become sadder or angrier. Today, choose to acknowledge the pain and frustration, and then use it for good. Whether it’s… ✨ ✨ Finding things you’re thankful for to transform the pain, ✨ ✨ Giving back with your money or time or even presence, ✨ ✨ Opting for paper [or nothing] over plastic, ✨ ✨ or simply acknowledging your fellow people walking by throughout the day (because we’re all going through something).. . 💕 Healing starts in the little moments, not just the grand gestures.

My philosophy: If it makes you feel rejuvenated after doing it, give it more of your time 😍 ✨ ✅ I got in the ocean for the first time in a month (I was avoiding it because of red tide and 🤰🏻) . ✅ We watched the cutest movie, “Love, Simon” have you seen it?! . ✅ We went to hypnobirthing @theorchidnest . ✅ My foot is finally feeling better since Disney so I got to workout in #MyFabletics gear [ad]! This entire look is from @fabletics and is non-maternity! #moveinfabletics ✨ ✨ What rejuvenated you this weekend?
  • Be careful with how much you let slide and tolerate this holiday season… you’re teaching people how to treat you! 🍂 🍂 On the blog today I’m answering a reader Q all about how to figure out where to spend the holidays when you’re being pulled in different directions [link in bio 👉 @theconfusedmillennial]. Sound familiar? The truth is, especially this time of year, a lot of us make choices to keep the peace and end up in a worse spot as a result. Is it always easy and comfortable to make the unpopular decision? No! But it’s worth it IMO. 🍂 🍂 Over 4 years ago I realized I had left every holiday in tears of the previous few years - so I made a choice to stop spending the holidays where I had been spent them my entire life. Did I get backlash? Of course. Do I actually look forward to Thanksgiving and the holidays again? You betcha! 🍂 🍂 Life’s too short to not enjoy it because you’re trying to please everyone and fit into a box!

  • 🛑 Stop scrolling for just a moment… ✋ . . And pause to list 3 things you’re grateful for. ✨ ✨ ICYMI, I shared a 30 day gratitude challenge on the blog last week (linked it in my stories this morning too). I love that this month always serves as a gentle remind to ground in gratitude - despite all the chaos this time of year can typically bring 😂. ✨ ✨ For me, I’m grateful for my health and baby’s health, the big windows in our home that make the morning light shine in, and my career (connecting with you guys, creating content, and flexibility in my days are priceless gifts!).
  • Oh the many faces of pregnancy (swipe to see them all 😜) ✨ ✨ REAL TALK: Truth, I’ve actually overall probably been more emotionally stable since getting pregnant than before 🤷🏻‍♀️ BUT This sign sums up these past two weeks in more ways than I can describe: Baby is okay! But at our appointment two weeks ago I had to get my shot for my mutant blood (which I was still trying to wrap my head around - basically the first baby is okay, but potentially with future children I’m in the small percent of the population whose blood could potentially attack future babies they try to have if there’s an incompatibility) and then we went to listen to baby’s heart beat and she had a slight arrhythmia. Even though logically I heard everyone saying it wasn’t something to freak out about - it can come and go and resolve itself and not cause any issues - but hearing her little heart not sound quite right led to a lot of tears and worry... ✨ ✨ I wondered if I did something wrong or caused it somehow. I felt helpless in being able to do anything (both with my alien blood and baby girls heart). And was counting the days until our next appointment to see if it’d gone away (it did thankfully and I am following the steps so that my blood won’t impact future babies). ✨ ✨ Luckily my midwife says that baby can’t feel the difference between crying and laughing 😜 and since seeing her on the ultrasound and hearing her doing great I’m feeling much better ~and more stable~ 😂
