Are Daily Harvest Flatbreads healthy?
Personally I think as far as flatbreads go, Daily Harvest's are some of the cleanest ingredients and healthiest options out there. They are gluten free, 98% organic, vegan, and as a company, they focus on sustainable sourcing their real whole ingredients and minimal processing.

Can you microwave Daily Harvest Flatbread?
I mean you could… but it'd probably be pretty gross IMO. Think soggy pizza… yuck!
How To Cook Daily Harvest Flatbreads:
The BEST way to cook Daily Harvest Flatbreads is at 450 degrees for 25 minutes directly on the wire rack of an oven or toaster oven in my opinion. Personally, I use a toaster oven.
If you use a cookie/baking sheet, Daily Harvest suggests leaving it in the oven during the preheat period, so you add your flatbread onto the heated sheet.
Personally, that just felt like an extra step and I put it on the wire rack. This helped DRAMATICALLY with the soggy center issue others had warned about.
Taste Testing Daily Harvest Flatbreads:
Pear + Arugula:
The Pear and Arugula flatbread isn't my favorite from Daily Harvest – but I'd order it again. It's not one I'd necessarily crave though like some of the others on this list.
Personally, when I first took a bite out of this flatbread, my tastebuds were just confused! It's tart, tangy, a little sweet, and a little crunchy.
In the past, I worked at a pizza place and we had an Arugula pizza which was basically a cheese pizza topped with fresh prosciutto, a HEAPING handful of fresh arugula, and then drizzled with a red wine vinaigrette. It was out of this world mix of sweet, salty, tangy, and crunchy.
I also used to order this pear pizza which was basically pear in a creamy white sauce, lotssss of cheese, pancetta, and a truffle oil. It was creamy, oily, SWEET, and tangy.
Both of those pizzas I'd had in my past packed a ton of flavor and had this really cheese, sweet, tangy finish to them… so Daily Harvests just kind of threw me for a loop – it wasn't what I was expecting. Not that it was bad, I just wasn't prepared for it.
The pear's were juicy – in fact, a little too juicy I think. They could probably dehydrate them a bit more before freezing. The arugula is cooked down pretty well – so yes you can see it, but you don't really taste it or get chunks. In other words: the arugula isn't really bitter which is nice. They say there's ricotta on this pizza on one page of their website, but it's not listed as an ingredient nor did I taste/see any ricotta.
I'd say the most overpowering flavor was the white wine vinegar and parsnip puree. I could've used a little more sweet potato and a little less of those. Unlike some of the other flatbreads on this list, I do think this pizza needs cheese. The flavors on their own were just too much for my palette – but cheese sort of softened the harsh flavors and added in some of that sweet/creaminess I was looking for.
Pear + Arugula Flatbread Ingredients:

Tomato + Basil:
Of all the Daily Harvest flatbreads I taste tested for this review, this was my least favorite.
It's not that it was “bad” it just wasn't worth the $8.99 price tag for the flavors it provided.
My biggest issue was the kale. Other Daily Harvest flatbreads with leafy greens cook the greens down really nicely so you can't taste the bitterness. On the Tomato Basil flatbread, I got a few huge chunks of Kale with the stem still in which left a really bitter taste in my mouth (and that was my first bite). I couldn't really shake it after that. Like most people, broccoli and cheese are two of my favorites so when I saw broccoli was on this flatbread I got excited. But was a little disappointed to see the broccoli was pureed into the base. So even when I added cheese, I didn't get that “broccoli cheese” effect I was expecting.
Over all, I'd say this pizza needs a little more sweetness to balance the bitterness – or perhaps swap the kale for some spinach so you can really taste the basil and garlic (which were totally overpowered by the kale in my opinion).
It's not that this is overpriced either – it's just that you can achieve a similar flavor profile for less money making pasta or lasagna at home IMO.

Kale + Sweet Potato Flatbread:
Who doesn't love a sweet potato flatbread?! And Daily Harvest's does NOT disappoint – if you know what to expect!
Contrary to what you brain might think when it hears “Kale and Sweet Potato Flatbread” you are NOT about to eat chunks of sweet potato. Instead Daily Harvest blends the sweet potato into a puree and uses it as the pizza “sauce.” So if you're expecting orange chunks on your flatbread just put that out of your mind now. Instead what you'll visually see with this pizza is a lot of green (kale) and purple (cabbage).
Yes, it looks a bit like rabbit food. So I added a little cheese on top to help the “mental game” and I have to tell you: this tastes amazing. While you can't see the sweet potato you can definitely taste it. I found the cheese didn't drastically improve the flavor – in other words, this flatbread is great with or without the cheese.
It's the perfect blend of sweet, savory, and earthy with it's coriander undertones. I literally crave this pizza when I'm out of it and HIGHLY recommend adding it to your Daily Harvest order here!
Sweet Potato + Kale Flatbread Ingredients:

Kabocha + Sage Flatbread:
I was the most skeptical about this flatbread – but it actually ties as my favorite with the sweet potato flatbread I just mentioned!
If you are looking for a cauliflower flatbread then this is the one to order!
It says the Cauliflower is pureed into the crust, but I swear I saw/tasted cauliflower! Either way, if you like salty and savory then this is your pizza. The leeks, fennel, and nutritional yeast are a really nice blend of oniony/salty. The squash puree was the perfect sweetness – without actually being sweet. This flatbread tastes great with or without adding cheese to it as well in my opinion.
